Notice of action: colleges breached contracts with students by failing to provide vocational training and a full term of classes.
Law firm Charney Lawyers filed the proposed class action against the province's 24 colleges today, saying 14 students have come forward to potentially stand as representative plaintiffs.

Counsellors, students and the growing anxiety
Kudos to Kanchan Kurich our Accommodation Officer and our social media team with the help of Maheen Sayal and Ida Gianvito who put together this report on the growing number of accommodation needs in the college system. It was picked up by the Counsellor on our Bargaining Team Mona Chevalier, and has since been shared across the province.
Today, Kevin Forest and our Striketoberfest-holdover crew made grilled cheese and fries for all campuses with plans for a big lunch on Thursday – details to follow. If the Strike is hitting you in the grocery bill, drop me an email. But most important vote early to REJECT this insult to collective bargaining. We didn’t lose five weeks of pay to crawl back defeated, with less of a contract than when this labour dispute started.
No matter if you got here by choice or by crowd, you have seen the College Employer Council act with a premeditated cynical agenda. Their divisive plans must not rupture our collegiality.
